can i use normal full cream milk instead of buttermilk
and would i have to add something else to it or is it fine just using normal milk.
can i substitute fat free milk for normal milk as well.

No. To make your own buttermilk, add 1 tbs white vinegar or lemon juice to full cream milk, everything together equal one cup. After 5 minutes, it becomes buttermilk.

No you really cant but they do have a non fat buttermilk now that is really good

For this recipe, I would not use the regular milk. Take 1/2 c milk and add a tsp of vinegar to it and let it set a few minutes. The vinegar will sour the milk and it can be used in place of butter milk. I wouldn’t use fat free milk in baking, the reduction in fat content may effect the texture of the product you are making.

yes to both questions, but, you will find the buttermilk will make the muffins taste better. If you don’t have buttermilk, you can add one teaspoon either lemon juice or vinegar to the cream and you’ll have buttermilk
